Call Out: 17th May 2007 - Conic Hill

A party of two were walking the West Highland Way from Drymen to Balmaha, when coming over Conic Hill, a 67 year old male slipped on the path and fractured his ankle. Alarm was raised by mobile phone and LMRT contacted by CSP Control at 13:34.
The first team member on scene was an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and he tended to the injuries. The casualty site was on the main path down from the summit of Conic Hill, just above the bealach. Soon after the team arrived with stretcher and splints. With the help of two National Park Rangers, the casualty was loaded into the stretcher and then evacuated off the hill.
The casualty was carried down to a waiting ambulance and the patient transferred to Stirling Royal Infirmary.
