Call Out : 17th January AberfoyleA very lucky dog is now recovering at home in Aberfoyle after a dramatic rescue this weekend. Holly a 13 year old Golden Retriever was lost in the forest near David Marshall Lodge nearly two weeks ago and her owner had accepted that she was unlikely ever to return. However Holly was miraculously detected by another dog, Archie, last weekend and found to be wedged at the bottom of a 15 foot narrow gorge - deep within the forest. Archie’s owner raised the alarm and Lomond Mountain Rescue Team were called on to attempt a rescue of the unfortunate animal.
The Team abseiled down to the dog and carefully brought her to the surface again aided by other members of the rescue team. Although weak and clearly dehydrated, Holly was glad to meet her owner again and following plenty of rest, food and water she has now made a fine recovery.
