Lomond MRT received a call from Central Scotland Police at 20.30 to respond to a request for help from two people in difficulty in the Bealach Nam Bo area of Ben Venue.
A male and a female (both 25-years old) had got into difficulties trying to return to their car, parked in the Loch Katrine car park. They had set off about 2 o'clock with the intention of climbing Ben Venue. Though both were suitably equipped, they had lost their map and their way. Having decided to return to their car they missed the path and ended up down at the water’s edge where the male fell in to the water up to his waist. They reached the knoll just beyond the sluices when the male could not proceed.
On reaching the party, the female was escorted back to the sluices and the male stretchered out.
The two walkers were tired, wet and hungry but otherwise ok to travel home. The Stand-down text was sent just after midnight.
