A party of four were descending from Dumgoyne when a 28 year old woman fell and suffered a broke/fractured left ankle. Helimed and an ambulance technician were on scene when they decided they required help. Central Scotland Police were contacted and the team was called out at 15.35.
As team members arrived, they were despatched up the hill to the casualty’s location. The girl’s ankle was splinted and pain relief was administered. Very quickly, she was loaded into the stretcher and evacuated to the base of the hill with the aid of a back rope.
The helimed by this time, had been stood-down and re-tasked. The stretcher and casualty were loaded into a team Landrover, situated by the stile, and was then transported down to the awaiting ambulance at the distillery. Eleven Lomond MRT members attended the call-out.
