Call Out: 5th April 2010 - Conic Hill

The Team received a call from Central Scotland Police Control at around 15.10 to pass on a request received from the Scottish Ambulance Service to assist in the evacuation of a 48 year old female walker near the summit of Conic Hill. Whilst walking on the West Highland Way, she had slipped and and injured her leg. The Call-Out text was sent at 15.20 and seventeen team members made their way to the RV point at Balmaha.
The Ambulance Service had additionally contacted the Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Kinloss and requested support from a naval helicopter stationed at RNAS Gannet, Prestwick. A number of Lomond MRT members had reached the casualty's location when 'Rescue 177' arrived and evacuated the casualty to the Southern General Hospital. Stand down was texted at 16.39.
