Call Out: 11th July 2010 - West Highland Way

Central Scotland Police contacted the Lomond MRT at 19:14 to say that they had recieved a phone call from an injured walker on the West Highland Way. He was thought at first to be North of Rowardennan but subsequent information indicated that he was North of Inversnaid. The walker had injured his ankle and a full team callout was initiated with the RV at Balmaha.
Assistance was requested from the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat which collected five team members from Balmaha at 20:25 and travelled North to search for injured walker, who was in touch with search control and the rescue boat by mobile phone. The casualty was located at 21:06 and after first aid treatment was taken by boat to a waiting ambulance at Ardlui. The team was stood down at 21:30 with twelve team members attending in the incident.
