#CallOut Ben Venue

7th October 2014

Police Scotland reported to the Team that a man's voice had been heard shouting for help by a local resident at Loch Katrine.

The #Callout text was sent at 15.21.

On arrival, Team members could see a male walker crag-fast on a small ledge holding onto a tree for security - not far from the skyline above the Loch's sluice gate.

Once the Team reached his position, he was secured and the decision was taken to lower the casualty, on a harness, down to safe ground. After five straight forward technical lowers he was then short-roped down the remaining slope to the path about 150 metres from the sluices.

The casualty was cold and anxious, with a few minor cuts to his hands, and was very grateful to everyone for their assistance.

A technical rescue - very efficiently carried out by ten team members on the North facing crags of Ben Venue.

The #StandDown text was sent at 18.19.
