#CallOut Ben Lomond

15th March2015

Sadly the Team were called to a fatality on Ben Lomond on Sunday the 15th of March. Navy 177, SAS Helimed and Police Scotland were involved in the recovery of the walker who slipped and fell from the Ptarmigan ridge. Our thoughts and condolences are with his friends and family.

The Team received the call out shortly after Midday, to rendezvous at Comer Farm, after a report of a walker slipping and falling into Leac na Cailliche. Navy 177 Sea King located and recovered the casualty North West of the summit of Ben Lomond. Soon afterwards the Scottish Ambulance Service Helimed landed on the hill and brought the man’s two friends down to Search Control, at Comer Farm.

A team of six were tasked to recover the casualty’s rucksack and continue to the site of the accident to retrieve other items. Personnel completed their tasking and returned to Search Control at 5.07pm. Eight team members were in attendance.
