#CallOut Missing Fisherman

8th & 9th August 2015

Police Scotland requested the Teams assistance in a shoreline search of Loch Lomond, between Sallochy Bay and the Mill of Ross, for a missing fisherman who’s empty boat had been discovered earlier that day, at Pilot Bay.

The call out was requested at 17.07 on Saturday evening. Search teams took part in a multi-agency response and were assisted by three SARDA Scotland dog teams, the Loch Lomond Rescue boat, the Lomond Ranger boat, the Police helicopter, dive team and local officers over a period of two days. Suspended overnight, the ground search continued until Sunday afternoon – with the team being stood down at 14.32 while other specialist units were deployed.

The search, to date, remains to be concluded for sixty six year old angler, Joe Brown. Joe was last seen leaving the Oak Tree at Balmaha on Friday at 22.30. Police Scotland have appealed for anyone who met Joe that evening, or has any relevant information, to contact them on 101.

18 team members attended the call out over a two day period.
