the team

Welcome to the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team website.

Lomond is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in Scotland. It has been coming to the aid of walkers, climbers and tourists for over forty years, since its foundation in 1967.

The Team covers an area of over 1000 square miles in one of the most popular mountain areas of Scotland. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park sees over two million visitors a year, 50,000 walkers annually attempt the West Highland Way and Ben Lomond itself has over 30,000 walkers and climbers each year.

As a charity the team depends entirely on fundraising to ensure it maintains its first class service. Please feel free to browse this site and look at the pictures to get a feel for the work we do.
